The AI Stack
0 1 · REAL-TIME INFORMATION
Winner : Grok
Grok lives inside X. That's its unfair advantage. If you need the live Twitter feed, breaking news as it lands, or what the internet is saying about something in the last 30 minutes, nothing else comes close.
ChatGPT and Claude both browse the web, but neither is pulling from a live social graph the way Grok does. For anything time-sensitive that lives on X, this is the call.
Use Grok when the answer is dated by the hour.
0 2 · CODING
Winner : Claude Code
For real coding work (refactors, debugging across files, building something that has to ship) Claude Code is still the one I open. It holds context across a codebase better than anything else right now.
The rumours around Codex are loud, and the next release might genuinely shift the ground. Worth tracking. But until it lands, Claude Code is the workhorse.
Watch Codex closely. For now, Claude Code is the default.
0 3 · REASONING & PROBLEM SOLVING
Winner : Claude
When the task needs structured thinking — breaking a problem into parts, weighing trade-offs, building an argument across several steps, Claude is the one that doesn't lose the plot halfway through.
ChatGPT is fine for short reasoning. Grok is fast but loose. For anything where the quality of the thinking matters more than the speed of the response, this is where I land.
For tasks that need the model to think, not just respond, default to Claude.
0 4 · SAFETY & RELIABILITY
Winner : Claude
Grok will say almost anything. ChatGPT hedges almost everything. Claude sits in the middle. It pushes back when it should, holds the line on the stuff that actually matters, and doesn't lecture you when you're trying to get work done.
Reliability isn't about being the most polite model in the room. It's about giving you the same calibre of output on Tuesday that it gave you on Monday.
Predictability beats personality.
0 5 · CONTEXT WINDOW
Winner : Claude (for now)
Claude leads at 1M tokens. You can drop entire codebases, full transcripts, hundred-page documents and it holds the thread. That's the spec everyone is chasing.
ChatGPT is closing the gap fast. By the time you read this, the numbers might already be different. This is the category most likely to flip in the next six months.
Check the spec sheet before you commit. This one moves every month.
THE TAKEAWAY
Stop picking one. Start picking per job.
You don't need one AI that does everything okay. You need to know which one does each job well and the discipline to switch tools mid-task instead of forcing one model to do all five.
The people getting real leverage out of AI aren't loyal to a single tool. They're fluent across all three.
